BEHAVIOR
MODIFICATION

Some dogs need more than basic training — they need behavior support tailored to their unique challenges. This program is designed for dogs struggling with reactivity, resource guarding, aggression, anxiety, and other complex behavior concerns.

Using evidence-based, force-free techniques, I’ll work with you to create a customized behavior plan that prioritizes safety, management, and gradual, positive change. Together, we’ll identify the root of your dog’s behavior and build skills to help them navigate the world more confidently and calmly. These skills may include things similar to everyday obedience training, desensitization and counter-conditioning, and even nervous system regulation tactics for dogs and humans.

Behavior cases are deeply individual, and every training plan is built around your dog’s needs and your lifestyle. If you’re unsure whether your dog needs behavior modification or general training, reach out — I’m happy to discuss your concerns and recommend the right fit.

Philosophy and Methods

How It Works

Behavior modification programs begin with an in-depth 60-minute initial consultation in your home. During this session, we’ll discuss your dog’s history, triggers, behavior patterns, and your goals. I’ll observe your dog in their environment and provide immediate management recommendations to help improve safety and reduce stress.

From there, we’ll schedule follow-up sessions (typically 45–60 minutes) based on your dog’s needs and your comfort level. Each session will focus on gradual, force-free training exercises, management strategies, and lifestyle adjustments to support long-term behavior change.

After every session, you’ll receive a detailed email recap with step-by-step instructions, progress notes, and resources to guide your work between visits. Because every behavior case is unique, the number of sessions and pace of progress will be customized to your dog’s individual needs.

Who Is This Program For?

This Behavior Modification program is suitable for all dogs; all breeds, ages, sizes and temperaments. It is for humans dedicated to creating long lasting behavior change through supporting their dogs needs by being open to modifying their own behavior and routines. The dog training will be intensive however it is important to note that the behavior of the humans involved will also likely need to be adjusted. The great thing about that? It's much easier to change ourselves than it is to change others. Nonetheless, when we change ourselves we change those around us. This program is designed to support dogs and their guardians in meeting the needs of the entire dog; not just make them obedient.

Who Is This Program NOT For?

Anyone looking for blind compliance, a quick fix or to "break" their dog of "bad" habits. Anyone unwilling to reconsider their own beliefs about how a dog should or should not behave, anyone unable to grasp that their dog is a sentient individual with likes and dislikes and their needs should be at the forefront of training.
